Green Genome: Online Self-Assessment
Green Genome: Online Self-Assessment
Delivering high quality sustainability education and clean economy job training programs—and integrating those efforts with other institutional sustainability efforts—can be a major challenge for community colleges. To do this well requires a comprehensive mix of institutional “competencies.”
This free tool is designed for community colleges to quickly gauge how well they are leading their green economy initiatives today and where they should prioritize investments. For more information, please review the full Green Genome Guide,
The Community College Green Genome Framework: Integrating Sustainability and Clean Technology Workforce Development Into an Institution’s DNA
(pdf).
This is an assessment, not a test. The information you provide will only be viewed by you and will not be shared.
Instructions
This online assessment will need to be completed in one 15-60 minute session. You may wish to read the assessment and instructions and discuss with colleagues in advance.
Download the assessment here
(pdf).
You will see a series of questions about the current status of your green and sustainability initiatives in four areas: Governance, Program Design & Delivery, Strategic Partnerships, and Community Engagement.
Considerations & resources listed below the questions help you determine your answer and provide you with best practice information.
You will see a total for each of the four sections which will then be summed at the end for a grand total.
When you have completed the questionnaire, click "submit" and you will receive a report via email showing your results.
We urge you to share the assessment and your results with key leaders across your college and use the results as an opportunity to begin setting a clear college path forward. Find suggested discussion topics and more information
here
