Charting a Sustainable Course for Community Colleges, WDI 2013

On January 30th, SEED held its 3rd annual full-day workshop at the American Association of Community Colleges' Workforce Development Institute in San Diego. Thirty-five colleges from across the country participated in The NEW New Green Economy: Charting a Course for Community Colleges, where they received in-depth technical assistance from award-winning leaders at three of the most innovative green colleges in the U.S.

Topics this year ranged from embedding sustainability across workforce curriculum to clean technology labor market assessment to building institutional buy-in for sustainability. The employer voice was deeply integrated this year where leaders from Trane described their interest in skilled community college graduates across an array of clean technology occupations.
