The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is providing funding to support solar energy deployment in communities throughout the U.S., while also leveraging benefits of community solar projects and building a diverse, skilled workforce. The program will benefit families and businesses in underserved communities by providing a cheaper source of power and access to skilled jobs with good pay. This article provides a great example of government and community partnership and can serve as a classroom resource as a discussion topic or research.
