Solar Energy (Online Course)

This introductory, free online course covers the basics of how to design a complete photovoltaic system and turn light into electricity. The curriculum introduces the technology used to transform sunlight into energy by emphasizing the working principles of a solar cell, the fabrication of solar cells, PV module construction and the design of a PV system. In addition, students will explore the advantages, limitations and challenges of various solar cell technologies and how to analyze the performance of solar cells and modules.  Enrollment dates vary; you may need to check back regularly for the next course offereing.
