An initiative of the National Council for Workforce Education, the Sustainability Education and Economic Development Center (SEED) supports community colleges and their partners with curriculum and resources to transform educational programs for a sustainable future.
2050 Energy Calculator
The 2050 Calculator allows users to create their own emissions reduction pathway, using scientific data to see the impacts. The Calculator is available in three versions to allow a range of audiences to explore how to best meet energy needs while reducing emissions: a simplified overview, a more detailed look at the issues, or a full Excel version for experts who want to look at the underpinning model. While designed for the UK, the Energy Department there is now working with teams around the world to help them develop their own calculators, and is also building a Global Calculator to look at ways to reduce emissions worldwide.
As the Sustainability, Education and Economic Development (SEED) Center is a FREE initiative offered by the National Council for Workforce Education, we strive to provide our users with up-to-date information and materials. We encourage you to submit resources or open-source curriculum for possible posting on the SEED Center website.
Note: SEED is managed by a team of higher education experts who vet and curate resources and curriculum. Thus, not all submitted materials will appear on the website.
