Our Changing Menu – How Climate Change is Affecting the Foods We Eat

Created to compliment the book, “Our Changing Menu,” this website provides detailed information on how climate change is affecting and will continue to modify the foods we eat. The site includes searchable databases of food ingredients and plant-based products being affected by climate change. With each ingredient listed, information is provided about how droughts, heat waves, or sea level rise are bringing about change. The parallel database focused on plant-based products includes such items as perfumes, pharmaceuticals, paints, pet food, and clothing, and describes how climate change is affecting them. Instructors and students can use the detailed and specific information provided for research, classroom activities and discussion.
