Report – Pathways to 2050: Scenarios for Decarbonizing the U.S. Economy

This 2019 report explores how the United States’ economic power and the private sector’s innovative qualities can come together to develop viable pathways for decarbonizing the US economy. It examines potential scenarios to reach mid-century decarbonization goals that benefit both companies and the broader scope of society. The report not only explores the technologies required to reach decarbonization but includes the roles performed by policymakers, businesses, and consumers. The insights drawn from these scenarios are intended to inform long-term decision-making practices and help develop strategies to reach climate neutrality.
